Why us
Many comparison sites work for retailers. We work from your bill.
Many comparison services are paid by the retailers they recommend, and Australia's consumer watchdog has taken comparison sites to court over misleading claims. We built the opposite.
Many comparison sites
- Paid commissions by the retailers they recommend
- Often compare only "partner" retailers
- Price an "average household", not you
BillWizard
- No commissions, referral fees or sponsorships
- Every published plan in your area
- Priced on the usage in your own bill
"I take no gold from any tribe."
No commissions
Comparison sites that are free to you are usually paid by retailers when you switch, which pulls them towards the retailers who pay. BillWizard is paid by households instead: free to see your saving, then A$2.99 a month. So no retailer can buy its way up your Reading, we have no reason to push you to switch, and if you're already on a fair deal, the Wizard says so.
The whole market
Retailers must publish their plans, and the regulator makes them available. BillWizard uses every generally available plan for your distribution area, refreshed daily, across New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, South Australia, the ACT and Tasmania. Business plans are left out of a household Reading, and Western Australia and the Northern Territory aren't covered, because most homes there can't choose a retailer.
Your data stays in Australia
- Read in Australia. Bill reading runs only in Australian regions, enforced in the code.
- Figures, not the bill. We keep the figures read from your bill, not the bill itself.
- Never sold, and never used to train our own algorithms.
- Yours to delete, bill by bill, or by closing your account.
- No card details. Payments go through Stripe, which holds them.
We handle personal information under the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
BillWizard opens at the end of November.
